Fancy a career in the construction industry?

A role in construction can give a lot of opportunities not just out on the site, but also the roles within the industry, from being behind a drawing board, project managing, crafting interiors, laying bricks, running your own independent business and more.

Apprenticeships are a great way to get your foot in the door for an exciting career, where anything is possible.

Here are some great resources with further information:

Go Construct - this site gives plenty of information about the construction industry, it has a dedicated page for Apprenticeships and the routes into the various roles available.

A handy A-Z of roles can be found on the site HERE.

There is also a link to the Apprenticeships website where you can look for jobs within the sector.

Here, on the Isle of Wight, there has been an interesting article on the Island Echo website that can be found HERE about 23-year-old Izzy Bowles from Godshill (pictured) who has an apprenticeship with Wight Building Materials giving her a firm foundation on which to develop a career in engineering – as she urges other women to consider careers in the traditionally male dominated world of engineering.
